Last Thursday, the NHL held their annual Awards ceremony. Evgeni Malkin was nominated for the NHL’s MVP, alongside Flames’ Jarome Iginla and Caps’ Alexander Ovechkin. Now, it was really a two headed race, as despite having a good season, Iginla didn’t size up to the two Russians. In the end, it’s Ovechkin that won the award.

Malkin had a great season nonetheless, and had the Pens won the Stanley Cup against Detroit, he’d probably would have won it. Talking about Detroit, Henrik Zetterberg really should have been a nominee for this year’s MVP as well!
